One Down; One to Go! 🤞🏽✨

#002

Hello friend 👋🏽,

I have spent the bulk of last month sharing what the Lord is doing in my life and ministry in this season 📢, and inviting people to partner with me 🤝🏽. God-willing, I’d be doing the same for one more month 🤞🏽.

Life update

After over a month back in Nigeria, I finally got to spend time with Christa in person!

It was a joy to physically be with the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. 🥳

“Have you met Christa?“ YES! 🥳

I've been made a leader in the teen ministry at my local church, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to disciple teens who will soon head to university .

While my church isn't the most biblically sound 🫣, the leadership seems open to discussing concerns 🤗.

My plan is to celebrate the good while gently pointing out what isn't biblical. I'll have to leave if the church won't make amends, especially because I'm reminded that God doesn't need me to save His people 😔. However, I hope she actually does 🤞🏽, to the glory of God and the benefit of His people .

Also, I'm in talks with a deacon of exemplary character about mentorship 👌🏽.

Ministry update

Lately, I’ve had moments where I’ve missed extensive coding, and I’m grateful for my accountability partner who encourages me to be faithful in what’s required of me in this season - inviting God’s people to join in what He’s doing .
If you don’t have an accountability partner, I’d love you to pause and ask yourself “Why not? 🤔”.

By God’s grace, some people have made pledges for monthly commitments, some have given special gifts, and some have even volunteered to expend their time and energy in partnership with the ministry. I am grateful to God and to these people He is using for His glory 🙏🏽.

To give the government more visibility into what we’re doing, and also make financial partnership even easier, I am setting up a non-profit organization here in Nigeria .

This should be sorted in a little over a month, if the Lord wills 🤞🏽.

In a span of about 3 days, I had two people recommend that I write proposals for the ministry - even the founder of Missional Digerati alluded to it, and so I am prayerfully considering that 👌🏽.

Changed lives

Though the numbers don’t make sense just yet 🫠, support-raising thus far has been quite encouraging .

Personally, I’ve been encouraged by people who shared how ministries have been able to raise full support in a really short period, and also how the Lord doesn’t rely on numbers and human logic to do His will. This was even amplified in my personal Bible reading, going through Gideon’s story recently. It was also comforting to be reminded that Christ has gone ahead to make provision for His work 🥳.

To all who have committed to partnering in one way or another, I continually pray that the Lord would make you experience the joys of actively participating in what He is doing, to the glory of His name.

During appointments, I’ve had people thank me for inviting them to partner 🥳. I’ve also had the privilege of sharing with a number of people how devotion to “particular ministry” is a feasible vocation route, for as many as the Lord would lead in that direction. I am grateful to God for opportunities to edify my siblings in such ways 🙌🏽.

Prayer requests

Here are a few things about which you can join me in prayer 🙏🏽:

  • Partnerships: Thank God for everyone He is drawing to partner with the ministry in various ways . And please pray that the resources are stewarded wisely for His glory and our good 🙏🏽.

  • Wisdom: Please pray that the Lord gives wisdom on when and how to transition out of this support-raising season 🧠. The plan so far, is to wrap this up by August 15, if the Lord wills 🤞🏽.

  • Favour: Please pray that we obtain favour in the sight of the Lord and the government officials processing the registration of Skeûos, our NGO 🤲🏽.

  • Church: Please pray that conversations with the leadership of my local church go well, and that the Lord gives us wisdom to effect whatever changes are necessary to faithfully tend His flock according to instructions in the Scriptures 🙏🏽.

Something to think about

I got to listen to a believing woman share about a really hard time she went through.

She started off with how the Lord had graciously reminded her of His faithfulness the morning before the whole saga began 🥳. And then, for minutes, it was a long rollercoaster of disappointments and painful experiences.

And yes, she got to a resolution - something amazing God did. BUT…

I realized she had stalled (for months) on sharing anything about the trying season until there was a silver lining (good news to share) 🥲.

Well, that got me thinking, and I’d love for you to join me in considering:

  • Does my hardship downplay God’s faithfulness/goodness? how so? 🤔

  • Am I reluctant to share my hardships in realtime? if so, why? 🧐

  • When I choose not to share my hardships in realtime 🔒,

    • how does that help:

      • me? 🤷🏽‍♂️

      • my friends? 👬🏽👭🏽

      • the church community? 💒

    • would I really be known and cared for by my community?

  • Do I know of anyone going through a hard time now? 🤔

    • how can I come alongside them? 🤞🏽

Not yet a believer?

I invite you to explore the gospel for yourself.
Feel free to reply this email if you have any questions.
I’d love to help out in any way possible.
